PLANET

We know that, as a fashion brand, we’ve got a big responsibility to look after our planet. By 2025, we’ll reduce our energy usage and switch to renewable energy sources across our business. We’ll also be carbon neutral, cutting our emissions and offsetting our remaining carbon by planting trees. Conscious of the resources we use, we’ll reduce single-use plastic and increase our recycling rates, making sure nothing ends up in landfill.

USING RENEWABLE
ENERGY

FatFace has been carbon neutral for our own UK operations (scope 1 & 2) since 2021. A green tariff for renewable electricity for the sites that we manage has been procured since then and, while it is more expensive; we believe that this is a price worth paying. Every unit of renewable energy purchased comes with its own Renewable Energy Guarantee ofOrigin (REGO) certificate. This means there are little associated carbon emissions from our electricity. We have invested in verified carbon offsetting projects each year since 2021 to offset the small remaining balance of our emissions.

However, we realise there is more to do here. Most of the carbon emissions occur outside of our own scope 1 and 2 and we are working to map and quantify these scope 3 emissions associated with our business.

For more detail about energy usage and our carbon footprint, please see our latest ESG Report

REDUCING WASTE
TO LANDFILL

How much waste we generate and how it is disposed is regularly measured and monitored, with the intention of limiting how much ends up in landfill. In 2024 we recycled more than 50% of our waste, with most of the balance being used to generate renewable energy. Only 2% was disposed to landfill.

For more details of our waste programme, please see our latest ESG Report

Our animal welfare policy outlines the expectations we have of our suppliers to ensure animals are raised, transported, and slaughtered under recognised higher animal welfare standards. These standards are based on the OIE’s Animal Health Codes or the Farm Animal Welfare Committee’s Five Freedoms that state animals should be:

DOES FATFACE USE
ANIMAL TESTING?

FatFace believes that beauty products should be cruelty free. We are proud to be Leaping Bunny approved. A global programme, Leaping Bunny requires cruelty free standards over and above legal requirements.

All of our own brand cosmetic and personal care products are approved under the Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny Programme, the internationally recognisable gold standard for cruelty free products. We adhere to a fixed-cut off date policy and proactively monitor our suppliers to ensure that our products continue to adhere to the Leaping Bunny criteria. Our supplier monitoring system is also independently audited.
